> Green Carbon Report reveals forests store even more carbon: Research from leading scientists has found that Australia has some of the most carbon-rich forests in the world – with the potential to sequester 25% of our annual carbon emissions over the next 100 years. But the proposed pulp mill in the Tamar Valley will drive unprecedented destruction of Tasmania’s native forests, and would be a disastrous step backwards in tackling climate change.

With your help, The Wilderness Society can protect Australia’s carbon-rich forests, and pull the plug on this carbon-polluting pulp mill once and for all. Go to www.wilderness.org.au to Make a donation - stop the pulp mill, and protect our native forests.

> Forests help halt climate change by sucking in and storing large amounts of carbon dioxide. Approximately 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from clearing, logging and degradation of the world's intact forests.
